This document provides guidelines for how your personal information is used within the CareQ system.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to ensure that CareQ clients know how their information will be used within the CareQ system.
POLICY
Breton Smartek (BST) – the makers of the CareQ service) do not share or disclose personal information with any third parties that are not affiliated with Breton Smartek for the purpose of delivering the CareQ service.
To provide the CareQ service, we collect the following types of client information:
- Name
- Phone number.
Your facility could use the CareQ system to communicate with you via text, phone and/or email. You could receive messages about shift availability, general facility information, or facility emergency alerts.
General information messages will be sent by your facility via email and/or text. Emergency information will be sent to you by your employer via text, phone call, and/or email. Messages sent through the CareQ system are retained to process communications and to provide reporting on facility communications. BST does not make those communications available to any third parties not affiliated with BST for the purpose of providing the CareQ service.
BST only processes personal information for the purpose of providing the CareQ service.
BST stores your personal information only on servers located in Canada.
You can prevent text messages being sent to you via CareQ at any time by replying with the word STOP. You can re-start the service by replying with the word START.
You can choose how or if you want to be contacted via the CareQ system.
Your personal information is visible, editable, and removable from your member profile within the CareQ service. If your facility does not provide you with access to that member profile page, then the data on that profile page may be obtained by contacting us directly, in writing, to request a copy of that. Messages that have been sent to you by your facility are considered to be data owned by your facility and not controlled by BST.
Your name, phone number and email are used only by your facility for the purpose of sharing facility information with you.
DATA PROTECTION
BST will take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.
BST processes personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected, to provide the CareQ service, and in accordance with this Policy. We review our data collection, storage and processing practices to ensure that we only collect, store and process the personal information needed to provide or improve our Services. We depend on our users to update or correct their personal information whenever necessary.
COVERED RECORDS
This policy applies to all official records generated in the use of the CareQ communication service, including but not limited to:
- Staff contact lists
- Other contact lists
- Message history
- Message response history
- Electronic records and documents stored within the documents section of the CareQ service
APPLICABILITY
This Policy applies to all electronic records generated by a CareQ system in the course of providing the subscribed client service.
Please note that this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Policy without your consent.
